Arcadia Businessman Delivers “Daily Dose” of Sports Nostalgia

Longtime Arcadia businessman, youth sports coach and civic leader Jim Edwards has now taken on a new title: chief wordsmith. Edwards’ latest venture Daily Dose Sports is an online magazine that delivers one new article each day to thousands of subscribers. The site’s ultimate goal is to remind die-hard fans of incredible people and moments that shaped their lives. Check out the full library of posts at DailyDSports.com.

“I want Daily Dose readers to wake up every morning to the most fascinating features in sports,” said Edwards, founder of Daily Dose Sports. “No matter who you are, you probably have a hero or heroic moment that takes you to your happy place. Daily Dose stories are the real deal, the stuff that only a true sports fan can appreciate from yesteryear as well as today. We take pride in getting it right and surprising you with deeper details you never knew.”

The real surprise for Edwards has been the publication’s swift growth. The “Dose” began as a simple daily email to Edwards’ personal friends. A few forwards later, the reader list had reached into the hundreds and an official e-newsletter was born. In 2015, the official Daily Dose Sports launch party featured special guests including Phoenix Suns legend Eddie Johnson, legendary Suns announcer Al McCoy and hall of fame broadcaster Dick Stockton. Partygoers gathered from across the Valley at the Fiesta Bowl Hall of Fame Museum in Scottsdale to toast the publication’s debut.

Today, with subscribership in the thousands, Edwards is proud to be the latest Arcadia small business success story in the making.
